Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and help keep our properties in top condition. You will work with the leasing team to maximize renewals and leasing opportunities while prioritizing safety and adherence to company policies.

You will perform minor and routine maintenance, respond to service requests within 24 hours, coordinate on-call shifts, and assist with inspections and record-keeping to ensure high-quality living environments for

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of full-time apartment maintenance experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
• EPA refrigerant certification.
• Strong English communication; Spanish bilingual is a plus.
• Own a basic set of hand tools.
• Valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Willingness to travel within major metropolitan areas with possible overnight stays.
• Ability to work some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Complete resident service requests within 24 hours.
• Manage the system for handling resident requests and on-call rotation.
• Ensure compliance with ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA and company policies.
• Assist in distributing flyers and materials.
• Maintain safety materials and inspect property for hazards.
• Keep records of preventive maintenance and make-ready status.
• Schedule and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances and related components.
• Handle on-call duties and standby emergency schedules.
• Prepare the property for inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
