Job summary

Valiant Residential is seeking an Assistant Maintenance to support the maintenance supervisor and uphold the property's physical integrity. You will work with the leasing team to support renewals and leasing opportunities while prioritizing safety and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities include handling resident service requests within 24 hours, assisting in routine maintenance, and keeping accurate maintenance records. A valid TX driver's license and basic tools are required.

Qualifications

Minimum of two years of full-time apartment maintenance experience.
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
EPA refrigerant handling certification required.
Strong verbal and written English communication; Spanish a plus.
Own a basic set of hand tools.
Valid driver’s license with clean record and auto insurance.
Willingness to travel within metropolitan areas and possible overnight stays.
Ability to work weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

Address resident service requests within 24 hours.
Manage system for handling service requests and on-call rotation.
Follow company policies and safety laws (ADA, Fair Housing, OSHA).
Distribute flyers and materials.
Keep safety materials current and inspect property for unsafe conditions.
Maintain records of preventive maintenance and make-ready status.
Perform minor maintenance on electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and related systems.
Handle on-call duties and standby emergency coverage.
Assist property manager with inspections and other duties.
