Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help the General Manager ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly at our travel plazas. This role offers entry-level management exposure and a path to develop judgment and discretion in a fast-paced retail environment.

You will lead teams, deliver performance feedback, coach supervisors, and uphold brand standards while maintaining safe food handling and superior guest service.

Qualifications

• Passionate about helping people learn and grow the business.
• Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with a sharp business acumen
• 2 Years experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations
• Flexible and open work schedule
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 Lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives clearly.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of non-management associates, assign tasks, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Capably manage duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate staff and maintain morale during challenging times.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues promptly and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Maintain brand standards and ensure brand/landlord/labor relations.
• Ensure restaurant appearance is clean and inviting, adhering to standards.
• Manage cash accurately and deliver reports as directed.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to foster long-term relationships.
• Conduct spot inventory counts to maintain accurate stock data.
