Job summary

Convive Brands, based in New York, is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead from the floor, elevate guest experience, and drive strong business performance in a full-service restaurant environment.

You will coach leaders, develop staff, and manage labor, inventory, and cost controls while partnering with the General Manager for growth toward future GM opportunities. A NYC Food Handlers License is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of restaurant leadership experience in a full-service restaurant, hospitality group, or comparable environment.
• NYC Food Handlers License is required to be considered for this position.
• Proficiency in Spanish, French, and/or Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor during service, coaching the team to ensure exceptional hospitality from arrival to departure.
• Own the guest experience, resolve concerns with empathy and urgency, and convert service recovery into loyalty opportunities.
• Develop people and culture, creating an environment where team members feel valued and motivated to grow.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, develop, and retain a high-performing restaurant team with the General Manager.
• Coach restaurant leaders and team members through opening, service, and closing with strong shift-to-shift communication.
• Manage labor deployment during service, balancing guest experience, productivity, and financial performance.
• Maintain high standards for food quality, hospitality, cleanliness, and food safety; ensure brand standards are met.
• Support inventory, food cost, waste, ordering, and COGS improvements with the GM.
• Contribute to P&L performance by analyzing sales, labor, COGS, and other metrics to forecast needs.
• Step into GM responsibilities as needed for future GM opportunities.
