Job summary

Convive Brands in New Canaan, CT is seeking an Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager to elevate guest experiences, develop the team, and drive restaurant performance.

You will lead on-floor coaching, oversee food safety, manage labor and costs, recruit and retain a high-performing staff, and ensure a seamless service with a focus on hospitality and profitability.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of restaurant leadership experience in a comparable concept.
• Ability to lead a team with energy, empathy and vision.
• Strong communication and guest-relations skills.
• Forecasting and labor deployment experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Spanish, French, and/or Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the floor, coaching team members and connecting with guests to ensure hospitality.
• Resolve guest concerns with empathy and urgency to build loyalty.
• Partner with the GM to recruit, interview, hire, and retain a high-performing team.
• Support in optimizing labor deployment to balance service and budget goals.
• Lead Front of House to ensure seamless opening, mid-shift, and closing execution.
• Oversee food safety protocols and checklists to safeguard quality.
• Manage food costs and inventory; reconcile orders and tackle waste and variances.
• Share P&L accountability and drive profitability through forecasting and proactive labor deployment.
