Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking a Training Specialist to coach Product Sales Specialists and ensure an exceptional shopping experience with strong customer service and product knowledge.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of customer service/sales experience, and excellent communication skills. You will train staff, maintain merchandising standards, and handle checkout and product education with customers.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service/sales experience or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written)
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities

• Act in line with company core values.
• Follow safe lifting practices SOPs.
• Teach and reinforce the basic P's of retail: People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing.
• Direct and support product sales specialists to ensure attentive customer service.
• Complete product specialist certification courses.
• Demonstrate understanding of merchandise and installation.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing and department organization.
• Communicate SOP changes to associates promptly.
• Complete forklift proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Assist in processing merchandise to showroom floor.
• Validate product placement and pricing within the department.
• Greet customers in a helpful, courteous manner.
• Assist customers with product questions and selections.
• Process customers at checkout using POS system.
• Handle refunds and exchanges per guidelines.
• Present how-to classes to customers.
• Follow cash, check, and card procedures.
• Answer the phone per guidelines.
• Stock and tag displays; create price tags and signs
