Job summary

Floor & Decor is seeking a Training Specialist to develop Product Sales Specialists and enhance the customer shopping experience through expert product knowledge.

You will lead training sessions, reinforce core retail principles, and ensure accurate merchandising and service standards across the department.

This role emphasizes safety, pricing accuracy, and proactive customer assistance while supporting store operations in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service or sales experience.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Act in accordance with the company’s core values.
• Demonstrate understanding of safe lifting procedures.
• Lead and train Product Sales Specialists on the basic P’s of retail (People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing).
• Provide direction to product sales specialists for exceptional customer service.
• Complete product specialist certifications.
• Understand merchandise and installation.
• Ensure proper merchandising and pricing within the department.
• Communicate SOPs and changes to associates.
• Complete forklift proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Assist in processing merchandise to showroom floor.
• Validate product placement and pricing.
• Greet customers and assist with product questions and selections.
• Process checkouts and refunds according to guidelines.
• Present how-to classes to customers.
• Follow payment procedures and answer phones.
• Stock and tag merchandise displays and create price tags.
