Job summary

Floor & Decor in Burlingame, CA is seeking a Training Specialist to develop Product Sales Specialists and ensure customers have a positive shopping experience through exceptional service and product knowledge.

You will lead training, certify staff, and reinforce the company’s retail principles, including People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, and Promotion, while maintaining accurate merchandising and pricing.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service/sales experience or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner consistent with company core values.
• Demonstrate understanding of safe lifting practices and SOPs.
• Teach and reinforce the company philosophy around the basic P's of retail (People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing).
• Provide direction to product sales specialists to ensure high-level customer service.
• Complete product specialist certification courses.
• Understand merchandise and installation details.
• Ensure proper merchandising, pricing and organization of the department.
• Communicate SOP changes to associates in a timely manner.
• Complete forklift proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Assist with processing merchandise to showroom floor.
• Validate product placement and pricing within the department.
• Greet customers courteously and assist with product questions and selections.
• Process customers at checkout using POS and handle refunds/exchanges per guidelines.
• Present and conduct 'how-to' classes for customers.
• Follow cash, check, and card procedures and answer phone professionally.
• Stock and tag displays and create price tags/signage.
