Job summary

Floor & Decor Holdings Inc. is seeking a trainer for Product Sales Specialists to elevate customer service and product knowledge across our flooring stores.

You will lead certification courses, reinforce merchandising standards, and ensure accurate pricing and showroom presentation in a fast-paced retail setting. The role emphasizes safe lifting practices, effective communication with associates, and hands-on coaching to embody the company’s P’s of retail.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of customer service/sales experience, or equivalent combination to perform essential functions.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal & written).
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Act and work in a manner consistent with company's core values.
• Demonstrate understanding of safe lifting practices and procedures.
• Drive and teach the company philosophy around the basic P's of retail.
• The basic P's of retail include People, Position, Product, Presentation, Price, Promotion, Purchasing.
• Provide direction to product sales specialists to ensure attentive customer service.
• Complete all product specialist certification courses.
• Demonstrate understanding of merchandise and installation.
• Ensure merchandising, pricing and organization of the department.
• Communicate SOP direction and changes to associates promptly.
• Complete forklift proficiency testing and certification.
• Communicate inventory needs to management.
• Direct and assist merchandise processing to showroom floor.
• Validate product placement and pricing within the department.
• Greet customers, assist with questions and selections.
• Process customers at checkout using POS system.
• Process refunds and exchanges per guidelines.
• Present 'how-to' classes to customers.
• Follow cash, check, and card procedures.
• Answer telephone per guidelines.
• Stock and tag merchandise displays; create price tags and signage.
