Job summary

New Charter Technologies, LLC is seeking an Assistant Controller to manage the full-cycle accounting and month-end close for multiple operating companies. You will lead journal entries, GL reconciliations, variance analysis, and cross-functional coordination to maintain accurate financial reporting.

The ideal candidate has a CPA or equivalent, 5–7+ years of accounting experience, and strong knowledge of GAAP and ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Business Central).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 5–7+ years of accounting experience.
• GAAP and financial reporting knowledge.
• Experience with ERP systems (Dynamics BC preferred).

Responsibilities

• Own the full-cycle accounting and month-end close activities for multiple Operating Companies.
• Prepare/review journal entries for AR, AP, cash, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany, and accruals.
• Reconcile the general ledger accounts per Corporate Policies.
• Research and explain variances to forecast and budget with Management.
• Coordinate month-end close timing and results with cross-functional teams.
• Lead a team of accountants, providing guidance, training and career development.
• Foster collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement within the team.
• Ensure procedures conform to GAAP and Corporate Policies.
• Lead year-end audit and respond to external auditors’ requests.
• Champion adoption of new accounting software and tools.
