Job summary

New Charter Technologies, LLC is seeking an experienced Assistant Controller to manage the financial accounting across multiple operating companies, ensuring timely, accurate reporting and compliance with GAAP.

The ideal candidate will lead a team of accountants, drive process improvements, and coordinate year-end audits while partnering with cross-functional teams to align accounting practices with the company's strategic goals. CPA preferred; 5–7+ years of accounting experience required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is required.
• GAAP knowledge and financial reporting experience are required.
• CPA preferred is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting and month-end close for multiple operating companies.
• Prepare and review journal entries (AR, AP, cash, payroll, assets, inventory, intercompany, accruals).
• Reconcile general ledger accounts per corporate policies.
• Explain variances to forecast and budget with management.
• Lead a team of accountants, coach and develop staff.
• Oversee year-end audit requests from external auditors.
• Champion adoption of new accounting software and tools.
