Job summary

New Charter Technologies, LLC seeks an accomplished Assistant Controller to manage the full-cycle accounting for multiple operating entities and drive accurate financial reporting. The role requires leadership, GAAP expertise, and a track record of process improvement across complex close cycles.

The ideal candidate will supervise accounting staff, ensure timely close, and work cross-functionally to align accounting with strategic goals and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA preferred but not required for all roles.
• 5–7+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and month-end close across multiple operating companies.
• Prepare and review journal entries for AR, AP, cash, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany, and accruals.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts per corporate policies.
• Research variances and explain deviations to forecasts and budgets.
• Coordinate with other functions on close timing and results.
• Lead and develop a team of accountants; drive collaboration and accountability.
• Ensure procedures comply with GAAP and corporate policies; drive process improvements.
• Lead year-end audit requests and liaise with external auditors.
• Champion adoption of new accounting software and tools.
