Job summary

New Charter Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Controller to manage the organization’s financial accounting across multiple operating companies, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate deep GAAP knowledge, strong leadership, and a track record of improving accounting processes with ERP systems. This role leads a team of accountants, partners with cross-functional teams, and drives adoption of new software while maintaining strict regulatory and policy

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA preferred.
• 5-7+ years of accounting experience.
• Expertise in GAAP and financial reporting.
• Ability to prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships across all levels of the org.

Responsibilities

• Own full-cycle accounting and month-end close for multiple operating companies.
• Prepare/review journal entries for AR, AP, cash, payroll, and more.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts per corporate policies.
• Explain variances to forecast and budget with management.
• Coordinate month-end close timing with cross-functional teams.
• Lead a team of accountants with guidance and development.
• Drive collaboration and continuous improvement in accounting.
• Ensure procedures conform to GAAP and corporate policies.
• Lead year-end audit requests from external auditors.
• Champion adoption of new accounting software and tools.
