Job summary

New Charter Technologies, LLC is seeking an Assistant Controller to oversee the financial accounting across multiple operating companies and ensure a timely, accurate close with strong internal controls.

The successful candidate will lead a growing accounting team, drive process improvements, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver compliant financial reporting and support external audits. Experience with ERP systems is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• CPA preferred.
• 5–7+ years of accounting experience.
• Expertise in GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight timelines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the full-cycle accounting and month-end close for multiple operating companies.
• Prepare and review journal entries for AR, AP, cash, payroll, fixed assets, inventory, intercompany, and accruals.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts per policies.
• Explain variances to forecast and budget with management.
• Coordinate month-end close timing with functional teams.
• Lead and develop a team of accountants; foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Oversee year-end audit requests and engage with external auditors.
• Champion adoption of new accounting software and tools.
