Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to oversee testing and commissioning activities for HV, BESS, and PV projects. You will lead commissioning teams, coordinate with engineering and QA, and ensure safety, standards, and project milestones are met across multiple sites.

This hybrid role requires on-site presence with some remote work and travel as needed. You will report to the Commissioning Manager and work with OEMs to ensure equipment testing and commissioning aligns with

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of testing and commissioning on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project commissioning team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient execution.
• Report daily on project status to the Commissioning Manager.
• Develop project milestones, commissioning plans, and procedures.
• Coordinate with OEM suppliers on equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction, and QA to ensure alignment of commissioning activities.
• Develop and maintain integrated P6 testing/commissioning schedules and update weekly.
• Create commissioning resource plans for the project.
• Oversee initiation and switching activities, and develop switching plans and LOTO as needed.
• Identify and recommend corrective actions for issues discovered during commissioning.
• Help develop standards and processes to improve business operations.
• Manage all pre-commissioning and commissioning tests for BESS, HV, or PV plant systems.
