Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to lead testing and commissioning for HV, BESS, and PV projects on-site in California. You will coordinate with engineering, construction, and QA teams to ensure safe, compliant commissioning and a smooth project closeout.

This full-time role requires travel and on-site presence, with daily reporting to the Commissioning Manager and development of schedules, procedures, and resource plans to deliver high-quality renewable energy assets.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in testing and commissioning on utility scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure efficient and effective execution of tasks.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager, the status of each project assigned.
• Review technical, contractual, and regulatory requirements related to commissioning and assist with the development of project milestone and deliverables list.
• Communicate with OEM suppliers regarding equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure alignment in all commissioning activities.
• Develop integrated testing and commissioning schedules and update weekly.
• Develop the commissioning resource plan for the project.
• Review energization procedures and assist with switching activities as required.
• Identify, analyze, and recommend corrective actions to resolve issues.
