Job summary

SOLV Energy is seeking an Assistant Commissioning Manager to oversee testing and commissioning for HV, BESS, and PV projects. You will work with the Commissioning Manager and specialists to ensure systems are installed, tested, and commissioned to project requirements and safety standards.

The role is hybrid with onsite work at job sites and some remote work; location details will be discussed during the interview process. Travel to sites is expected as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of testing and commissioning on utility-scale electrical systems.
• Strong knowledge of electrical power systems, inverters, transformers, and electrical infrastructure.
• Proven experience managing project teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the project commissioning team with guidance, training, and support.
• Report daily to the Commissioning Manager on status of each project.
• Develop project milestones, commissioning plans and procedures.
• Coordinate with OEM suppliers on equipment testing and commissioning activities.
• Collaborate with engineering, construction and QA teams for alignment of commissioning activities.
• Develop and maintain integrated testing and commissioning schedules (weekly updates).
• Develop commissioning resource plan and ensure readiness.
• Review energization procedures and assist with switching activities as required.
• Identify and implement corrective actions to resolve commissioning issues.
• Support standards and processes to improve business.
• Manage all pre-commissioning, cold, warm and hot commissioning tests across BESS, HV, PV systems.
• Ensure compliance with industry safety protocols and environmental regulations.
• Prepare daily commissioning reports and track lessons learned and warranty logs.
• Establish safety programs (LOTO, tagging) for cold commissioning across projects.
