Job summary

Jones Lang LaSalle Incorporated is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to lead and supervise engineering staff in a critical facilities environment. You will oversee day-to-day operations of mechanical, electrical, and life-safety systems to ensure uptime and safety.

You will also mentor staff, coordinate preventative maintenance, and assist the Chief Engineer, with on-site leadership during shifts and after-hours coverage as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of related experience in building operations, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, or similar skilled trades.
• Leadership or supervisory experience within an engineering, maintenance, or facilities environment.
• Universal CFC EPA certification or willingness to obtain within the first year with company support.
• Experience using Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, Excel, and Teams.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct engineering and maintenance staff during assigned shifts, monitoring safety and performance.
• Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, and service requests for critical systems.
• Oversee contractors and vendors, ensuring safety compliance and work authorization.
• Maintain logs, readings, inventories, and documentation of equipment performance.
• Support emergency response procedures and participate in on-call rotations.
