Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is seeking an Assistant Bakery Operations Manager to partner with the Bakery Operations Manager to lead a fast-paced bakery, build a trained team, deliver great guest experiences, and own daily operations from staffing to inventory and quality.

You will coach shift leads and crew, assist with recruiting and training, manage schedules, and step in when needed to run the bakery. This role is a path to future leadership within Insomnia Cookies.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
• Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to jump into any bakery role when needed.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
• Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Ability to obtain any required food safety certifications applicable to the location.
• Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day bakery operations with BOM and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
• Step in to lead independently when BOM is away.
• Coach and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members with real-time feedback.
• Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training to build a fully staffed team.
• Help create schedules and manage labor for bakery and business needs.
• Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, and speed of service.
• Complete required operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
• Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance with BOM and Area leadership.
• Foster a culture where team members know expectations, feel supported, and are accountable.
• Jump in wherever needed—from serving guests to baking cookies during peak hours.
