Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection Agent to protect people, property and product within our stores. Responsibilities include preventing theft, coordinating investigations, monitoring video and RFID data, and partnering with ERT for emergencies.

You will build cross-functional relationships with store leadership and law enforcement while maintaining confidentiality and a calm, decisive approach in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid security license for applicable locations.
• Ability to make decisions with good judgement in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft with sound judgment and policy-compliant apprehensions.
• Identify theft trends using reporting, surveillance and technology.
• Drive shrinkage reduction through action plans and merchandise protection standards.
• Investigate internal theft with evidence gathering and collaboration with AP leadership.
• Use video systems to monitor activity and support investigations.
• Leverage RFID data to track merchandise movement and inaccuracies.
• Maintain safety of customers and employees and respond to incidents.
• Lead security audits and training to reduce shrinkage across the store.
• Serve on the Emergency Response Team and participate in drills.
• Prepare clear reports on incidents, recoveries and investigations.
• Testify in court when summoned for cases.
• Build partnerships with store leaders and local law enforcement.
