Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection Agent to help keep customers, teams and merchandise safe. You will work with the store Emergency Response Team (ERT), investigate theft, reduce shrinkage, and protect inventory.

The role requires fast decision-making, confidentiality, and strong communication. Responsibilities include responding to security incidents, preparing reports, and collaborating with store leaders and law enforcement.

Qualifications

• Valid security license required for certain locations as specified in the posting.
• Detail-oriented with ability to exercise good judgement in fast-paced environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Calm demeanor when handling safety issues and aggressive behavior.
• Accountability, initiative, and ownership of responsibilities.

• Experience in investigative, asset protection and security procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft with sound judgment and compliant apprehensions.
• Identify theft trends using technology, reporting and surveillance.
• Drive shrinkage reduction through action plans and standards.
• Investigate internal theft with evidence gathering and collaboration with AP leadership.
• Use video systems to monitor activity and support investigations.
• Lead security audits and safety training within the store.
• Participate in store Emergency Response Team (ERT) activities and training.
• Prepare and submit prompt reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations and policy violations.
• Testify in court when summoned for criminal or civil cases.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with store leaders, retailers, and law enforcement.
