Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. Fred Meyer requires all associates to perform tasks safely, adhering to corporate policies and legal requirements. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
  • Experience in retail security and law enforcement.
  • Ability to pursue further education.
  • High school diploma or GED, or relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum age of 18, or 21 in Alaska.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention terminology and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:
  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and promote excellent customer service.
  • Detect, deter, and detain external theft suspects.
  • Prevent dishonesty among customers and associates.
  • Monitor large shrink areas within stores.
  • Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
  • Support customer and associate relations through effective communication and training.
  • Provide credible court testimony when needed.
  • Identify high-theft areas.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Promote and adhere to company initiatives.
  • Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
