Position Summary:

Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. Fred Meyer requires all associates to perform tasks safely, adhering to corporate policies and legal regulations. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
  • Retail security and law enforcement experience.
  • Ability to pursue ongoing education.
  • High school diploma or GED, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum age: 18 years (21 in Alaska).
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy.
  • Maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:
  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and promote excellent customer service.
  • Detect, deter, and detain theft suspects.
  • Prevent internal and external theft through proactive actions.
  • Monitor large shrink areas.
  • Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
  • Support customer and associate relations through communication and training.
  • Provide credible court testimony when needed.
  • Identify high-theft areas.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Support and promote company initiatives.
  • Maintain flexibility to work various shifts, overtime, and weekends.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
