Position Summary:

Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. Fred Meyer requires all associates to perform tasks safely, in accordance with corporate policies and legal regulations. Minimum Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and structure.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
  • Experience in retail security and law enforcement.
  • Ability to pursue further education.
  • High school diploma or GED, or relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum age: 18 years (21 in Alaska).
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention terminology and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:
  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver excellent customer service.
  • Detect, deter, and detain theft suspects.
  • Prevent dishonesty among customers and staff.
  • Monitor large shrink areas.
  • Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
  • Support relations through communication and training.
  • Provide credible court testimony.
  • Identify high theft areas.
  • Ensure compliance with policies.
  • Support company initiatives.
  • Work flexible shifts, including overtime and weekends.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
