Position Summary:

Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. All associates are required to perform tasks safely, in accordance with corporate policies and applicable laws. Minimum Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field.
  • Retail security or law enforcement experience.
  • Ability to pursue further education.
  • High school diploma or GED, or relevant experience.
  • Minimum age of 18, or 21 in Alaska.
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:
  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and promote excellent customer service.
  • Detect, deter, and detain external theft suspects.
  • Prevent theft and dishonesty among customers and staff.
  • Monitor large shrink areas in stores.
  • Report incidents to the asset protection manager.
  • Support customer and staff relations through communication and training.
  • Provide credible court testimony.
  • Identify high-theft areas.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies.
  • Support company initiatives.
  • Maintain flexibility to work any shift, including overtime and weekends.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
