Position Summary:

Prevent and reduce loss due to bad debt, cash over/short, and civil liabilities; reduce shrink and improve margins. All associates are expected to perform tasks safely, in accordance with corporate policies and legal requirements. Minimum Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Fred Meyer policies, procedures, and organizational structure.
  • Bachelor's degree in criminal justice.
  • Experience in retail security and law enforcement.
  • Ability to pursue ongoing education.
  • High school diploma or GED, or relevant education and experience.
  • Minimum age: 18 years (21 in Alaska).
  • Ability to pass a drug test.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Familiarity with loss prevention terms and processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Responsibilities:
  • Model Customer 1st behavior; deliver and promote excellent customer service.
  • Detect, deter, and/or detain theft suspects.
  • Prevent dishonesty among customers and staff.
  • Monitor large shrink areas.
  • Report incidents to asset protection management.
  • Support relations through communication and training.
  • Provide credible court testimony.
  • Identify high-theft zones.
  • Ensure compliance with policies.
  • Support company initiatives.
  • Maintain flexibility to work any shift, overtime, and weekends.
  • Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
