Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking a Manager of Asset Protection to supervise AP teams in the store and partner with cross-functional leaders to support loss prevention and safety.

You will lead shrink reduction strategies, develop talent, and use data to mitigate theft while protecting employees and assets. This role requires strong leadership, collaboration with Store Manager and HR, and the ability to respond quickly to security incidents.

Qualifications

• A valid security license is required in select locations.
• Proven success in investigative, asset protection, and security procedures as well as AP leadership experience.
• Understanding of Exception Based Reporting tools and Case Management Software
• Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with other employees and leaders
• Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and customers
• Strong decision making and problem-solving skills in high stress situations
• Strong written communication skills
• Strong organizational, delegation and follow-through skills
• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Computer proficiency, including use of monitoring and surveillance technologies
• High level of ownership, accountability, and initiative
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store needs

Responsibilities

• Lead by example and execute the organizational strategy set by the AP Division.
• Develop strong relationships within the store with leadership teams, focusing on shrink reduction.
• Own building security and safety, educating staff on emergency preparedness topics.
• Monitor and communicate all reports to ensure AP incidents are reported and documented properly.
• Use data to identify trends and mitigate internal and external theft.
• Lead execution of shrink reduction plans and detect theft and dishonesty.
• Hire and develop talent capable of supporting investigations, auditing, shortage reduction, and AP controls.
• Be data driven to identify risks and maximize profitability
