Job summary

Macy's is seeking an Asset Protection Captain in Chicago to lead store-wide protection efforts, coaching colleagues, and partnering with leadership to deter theft and maintain safety. This role emphasizes investigations, incident response, and reporting in a dynamic retail setting.

Responsibilities include supervising teams, using surveillance and alarms, and ensuring compliant procedures while upholding Macy's standards across the store.

Qualifications

• Must have prior experience training, coaching, or supervising others in retail/security.
• Ability to identify, investigate, and respond to theft, fraud, safety, and policy incidents.
• Knowledge of policies and legal requirements for apprehensions, searches, seizures, and evidence preservation.
• Ability to complete required security training and maintain certifications.
• Ability to apprehend shoplifters and respond to incidents in retail.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Asset Protection colleagues through training and coaching in theft prevention and investigations.
• Partner with store leadership to ensure a safe, secure, customer-focused environment.
• Use surveillance, alarm, reporting, and systems to monitor activity and document incidents.
• Respond to incidents including first aid, safety concerns, and liability matters.
• Create clear, timely reports on theft, recoveries, and investigations.
