Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection Agent to help keep customers, colleagues, and merchandise safe. You will work with the store Emergency Response Team to prevent theft, respond to incidents, and support inventory accuracy.

The role requires solid judgment, confidentiality, and strong communication. Responsibilities include investigating incidents, testifying when needed, and collaborating with store leaders and local law enforcement.

Qualifications

• A valid security license is required for this role in Washington DC; Denver, Colorado; New York City, New York; St. Louis, Missouri; and Oregon.
• Ability to make decisions with good judgment in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear and concise verbal and written skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft by using good judgment and conduct quality apprehensions in high shrinkage areas while strictly adhering to policy and AP leadership guidance.
• Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics.
• Drive a shrinkage reduction culture by implementing action plans and merchandise protection standards.
• Identify, escalate, and support internal theft investigations through various methods including exception-based reporting and surveillance systems.
• Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP Leadership and Investigation teams.
• Testify in court when summoned for criminal and/or civil cases.
