Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection Agent to safeguard customers, employees, and merchandise. The role collaborates with the store Emergency Response Team (ERT) to prevent, respond to, and recover from emergencies while reducing shrinkage and protecting profits.

Responsibilities include investigating internal theft, using video surveillance, and preparing reports for high-profile incidents, with opportunities to testify in court when required.

Qualifications

• A valid security license is required for this role in certain locations.
• Experience in investigative, asset protection and security procedures is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft by using good judgment and conduct quality apprehensions in high shrinkage areas while adhering to policy and AP guidance.
• Identify theft trends by leveraging technology, reporting and surveillance tactics.
• Drive a shrinkage reduction culture by implementing action plans and merchandise protection standards.
• Investigate internal theft by gathering evidence and partnering with AP Leadership and Investigation teams.
• Use video systems to monitor theft activity and support investigations.
• Leverage RFID data to view merchandise movement and aid investigations with inaccuracies.
• Prepare and submit reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations and policy violations.
• Testify in court when summoned for criminal and/or civil cases.
• Build cross-functional partnerships with store leaders, neighboring retailers, and local law enforcement.
