Job summary

Nordstrom, Inc. is seeking an Asset Protection Agent to safeguard customers, teams and merchandise while partnering with the store Emergency Response Team. Responsibilities include preventing theft, investigating incidents, and supporting safety initiatives across the store.

The role requires strong judgment, confidentiality, and exceptional communication in a fast-paced retail environment. Training and cross-functional collaboration with store leaders and law enforcement are involved.

Responsibilities

• Resolve theft and conduct apprehensions following policy and AP guidance.
• Identify theft trends using surveillance, reporting, and technology.
• Drive shrinkage reduction through action plans and standards.
• Investigate internal theft with evidence gathering and cross-functional partners.
• Monitor with video systems and use RFID data for investigations.
• Maintain safety and security of customers and staff; respond to incidents.
• Lead store security audits and shrinkage awareness trainings.
• Participate in Emergency Response Team (ERT) and training, including First Aid.
• Prepare prompt reports for incidents, recoveries, investigations and violations.
• Testify in court when summoned; build partnerships with local law enforcement.
