Job summary

Edwards Genesee Dry Pump Facility in Buffalo, NY is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader – Assembly & Test to lead a group of 10 engineers, oversee equipment and process transfers, and drive the ramp‑up of production over the next 12 months. You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure a smooth transition.

You will implement lean manufacturing strategies, monitor KPIs, ensure safety and quality standards, and mentor staff, with travel up to 10% as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Degree required; Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, preferred.
• 5+ years in manufacturing engineering with 1–3 years in leadership overseeing engineering teams.
• Proven expertise in assembly & test operations.
• Experience with greenfield site startups or large-scale process transfers desirable.
• Proficiency in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt preferred), and process optimization.
• Excellent project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Demonstrated leadership and team-building abilities for technical teams of 3+ people.
• Strong problem-solving and data-driven decision-making; effective stakeholder collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 10 manufacturing engineers.
• Oversee planning and execution of equipment and process transfers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ramp production over 12 months.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies for assembly & test operations.
• Establish and manage a machine maintenance program for reliability and uptime.
• Drive continuous improvement using lean and advanced engineering techniques.
• Monitor KPIs such as production output, equipment efficiency, and defect rates.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across operations.
• Travel up to 10% in the first 6–9 months to oversee transfer and training.
