Job summary

Edwards Vacuum LLC in Buffalo, NY leads a critical manufacturing engineering team to establish and optimize production capabilities at Genesee site. You will oversee transfer of assembly & test operations, drive ramp-up, and ensure seamless integration of equipment, processes, and personnel for operational excellence.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering, 5+ years in manufacturing engineering with leadership, and strong lean/Six Sigma expertise.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, with at least 1-3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven expertise in assembly & test operations.
• Experience with greenfield site startups or large-scale process/equipment transfers is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 10 manufacturing engineers, fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Oversee planning, coordination, and execution of equipment and process transfers to Genesee.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure ramp-up of production capacity over 12 months.
• Develop and implement manufacturing strategies for assembly & test operations to meet targets.
• Establish and manage a machine maintenance program for equipment reliability.
• Drive continuous improvement using lean principles and advanced engineering techniques.
• Monitor KPIs like production output and defect rates.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
• Travel up to 10% in first 6-9 months may be needed.
