Job summary

Atlas Copco/Edwards Vacuum in Genesee, NY, seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to develop and implement processes aimed at reducing assembly costs as we prepare for a new facility.

You will collaborate with Korean engineers and equipment vendors to qualify and install new equipment, support operations, and drive improvements in safety, quality, delivery, productivity and cost across the plant.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, mechanical or manufacturing preferred; experience considered in absence of degree.
• 3+ years preparing tooling, programs and prove-out materials for CNC machining.
• Experience with CNC equipment; HMC preferred.
• Knowledge of Kaizen, 6S and Lean Manufacturing.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; multi-tasking capability.
• Proficient CAD/office tools: Excel/Word/AutoCAD/SolidWorks; ERP knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new in-house or external processes to reduce assembly cost.
• Collaborate with Korean engineers and vendors to transfer processes to Genesee plant.
• Qualify and install new equipment; manage installation and validation.
• Provide manufacturing engineering support to operations.
• Maintain data systems and ensure data integrity; handle change orders and non-conformances.
• Drive continuous improvement for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost.
• Create and update SOPs and equipment specs; document designs with drawings and bill of materials.
• Define, setup and optimize job orders and manufacturing tooling.
• Interface with customers, vendors to meet requirements.
