Job summary

Atlas Copco Edwards Vacuum is preparing for production at the Genesee, NY facility and seeks a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to develop new in-house and external processes aimed at reducing assembly costs.

You will work with Korean engineers and equipment vendors, qualify and install new equipment, and support the operations team with data-driven improvements. The role emphasizes Kaizen, Lean, and ERP/SAP systems within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering, mechanical or manufacturing preferred; industry experience considered in absence of degree.
• 3+ years experience in preparing tooling, programs, and prove out materials for CNC machining operations.
• Experience with CNC equipment – HMC preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement new processes and capabilities to reduce the assembly cost.
• Coordinate with engineers and vendors to qualify and install new equipment.
• Assist with equipment specification, location, and installation in Genesee, NY facility.
• Provide manufacturing engineering support to the operations team.
• Maintain data systems and change orders; manage non-conformances and routings.
• Drive continuous improvement aligned with Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity and Cost.
• Perform time studies to optimize assembly routings and balance lines.
• Define and prepare job orders and manufacturing tooling; interface with customers and vendors.
• Create and maintain SOPs and manufacturing specifications.
