Job summary

G&W Electric Co is seeking an Assembler I (5:00am to 1:30pm) to perform a variety of sub-assembly and assembly tasks of basic complexity at our Romeoville, IL facility. The role involves preparing materials, reading blueprints, assembling components, and supporting prototype work as needed.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED with 0–1 year manufacturing experience, able to read drawings and Bills of Materials, and proficient with small hand and power tools.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 0–1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read drawings and Bills of Materials.
• Able to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Basic computer skills; read instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprints and parts lists.
• Position parts and subassemblies using templates or measurements.
• Assemble components and verify proper fit and connections.
• Support prototypes and basic assembly projects as needed.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and conserve resources.
• Train others in basic assembly tasks when needed.
• Inspect finished work and document results.
