Job summary

G&W Electric Co in Romeoville, IL is seeking an Assembler I for the 10:00pm–6:30am shift to perform basic sub-assembly and assembly tasks, following drawings and BOMs. You will prepare materials, assemble components, and maintain a safe, efficient work environment.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 0–1 year in manufacturing, ability to read instructions in English and use small hand and power tools. Company offers medical/dental/vision, 401(k), vacation, and profit sharing.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• 0-1 year manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to safely use small hand and power tools.
• Ability to read drawings and Bills of Material.
• Basic computer skills.
• Able to understand English instructions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specs and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials.
• Position parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
• Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit and fastening parts.
• Assist in building prototypes and basic assembly projects as needed outside regular production.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
• Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
• Train others in basic assembly tasks as needed to contribute to team effort.
• Inspect all work and ensure it meets requirements before passing to next operation.
• Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
