Job summary

Dollar General in Luzerne County, PA is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to assist the Store Manager in implementing store processes, supervising staff, staffing, inventory, stocking and receiving, paperwork, and store needs. This role is intended to develop external candidates for the Store Manager role for a limited period.

You will participate in opening/closing, ensure cash handling, maintain a safe environment, review operating statements, and complete paperwork by deadlines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.
• Ability to read and interpret documents and perform basic math.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit controls.
• Familiarity with inventory management and merchandising practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to established practices.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
