Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in the effective implementation of all store processes, including staffing, inventory management, and customer service leadership. This position is designed to develop external candidates for the Store Manager role for a limited period.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire, and counsel following legal compliance and internal processes.
• Strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stock merchandise per directions.
• Assist in inventory management and prepare inventories.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Open and close store duties as needed.
• Maintain cash controls and security practices; cashier accountability.
• Ensure clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the store manager's absence.
• Review operating statements to identify trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork per guidelines and deadlines.
