Job summary

This role is designed to foster interactive development of an external candidate for the Store Manager position and will be held for a limited period, emphasizing leadership, scheduling, cash controls and retail operations best practices.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions.
• Perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and percentages.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit controls.
• Learn IBM cash register functions and generating reports.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Familiarity with cash, facility and safety control policies and programs (deposits, keys, SAFE/STARS).

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and staging, stocking, and pricing of merchandise.
• Assist in inventory management, including damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork and controls.
• Follow ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies from handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds.
• Maintain cash controls and security practices.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on time.
