Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents such as diagrams and safety rules.
• Perform basic math operations (addition, subtraction, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling, deposits and cashier accountability.
• Learn IBM cash register functions and reporting.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Know deposits, keys and cash security procedures.
• Recruiting, interviewing and hiring practices incl. legal compliance.
• Clear written and oral communication; strong interpersonal skills.
• Organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to solve problems with limited standardization.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at certain stores.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and proper pricing and display.
• Assist in inventory management, including damages, markdowns, scanning, and paperwork.
• Follow ordering practices to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Model company procedures and policies per handbook and SOPs.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds in the bank.
• Assist in cash control and security procedures.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment for customers and employees.
• Operate the store in the manager's absence.
• Review operating statements for sales, labor, profitability and inventory turns.
• Complete paperwork and documentation on time.
