Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory management, merchandising, and cash handling. You will help ensure store targets are met and provide strong customer service leadership.

The role involves opening/closing duties, cash controls, and ensuring store standards. Related experience in retail and bilingual skills may be preferred at certain locations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of experience in a retail environment preferred for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by staging, stocking and pricing merchandise.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management including damages, markdowns, scans, paperwork, and controls.
• Follow prescribed ordering practices to meet or exceed in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Participate in store opening and closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of all company funds in the bank.
• Maintain cash control and security procedures.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager’s absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
