Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising, and daily store operations. This role is to foster external candidates for the Store Manager position and is held for a limited period.

You will lead customer service, assist in opening/closing, ensure cash controls, and help maintain a safe, well-stocked store environment. Strong reading, math, and communication skills are essential, with a preference for bilingual Spanish speakers.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret documents and procedures.
• Perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Know cash handling procedures including deposits.
• Learn IBM cash register functions to generate reports.
• Understand inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Know cash, safety and security policies.
• Recruit, hire and train staff with compliance.
• Communicate effectively with customers and staff.
• Maintain strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Bilingual Spanish speakers may be preferred at some locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising and stocking according to procedures.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and reporting.
• Follow practices to meet in-stock targets; manage damages and markdowns.
