Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager Candidate to support the Store Manager in staffing, inventory, merchandising, and cash accountability across store operations. This role develops external candidates for the Store Manager position on a temporary basis.

Primary duties include recruiting support, inventory management, store merchandising, and ensuring daily paperwork and security practices are followed.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in recruiting and staffing activities.
• Assist with store merchandising by facilitating stocking and storage; ensure merchandise is presented per guidelines.
• Assist in all aspects of inventory management and conduct inventories.
• Follow prescribed ordering to meet in-stock targets.
• Provide superior customer service leadership.
• Follow company procedures and policies per handbook.
• Participate in store opening/closing activities.
• Ensure safe deposit of company funds.
• Maintain financial integrity through cash control procedures.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked stores and a safe environment.
• Operate store in the manager’s absence.
• Review operating statements for trends and opportunities.
• Complete all paperwork and documentation on deadlines.
