Job summary

Propio Language Services invites qualified American Sign Language interpreters to join our Columbus, Ohio region team as onsite contractual interpreters. The role focuses on accurate consecutive interpretation between English and ASL for diverse assignments in healthcare, education, and community settings.

Candidates should have ASL certification, at least one year of interpreting experience, and the ability to travel to assignments.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English and American Sign Language.
• Minimum 1 year of professional interpreting experience.
• Must hold at least one ASL certification (RID/EIPA BEI).
• State-specific ASL interpreting license where applicable.
• Able to travel to onsite assignments and pass necessary requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and ASL onsite.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when needed.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA/FERPA/GLBA and client rules.
• Maintain professional conduct with clients and participants.
• Maintain current language proficiency and subject-matter knowledge.
