Job summary

Propio Language Services is seeking American Sign Language interpreters for onsite Cincinnati-area assignments. This independent contractor role focuses on accurate consecutive interpretation between English and ASL, with optional remote interpreting where applicable.

Applicants must be 18+, fluent in English and ASL, hold an ASL certification, and be able to travel to onsite assignments. A current résumé and any required credentials will be reviewed as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Professional proficiency in English and American Sign Language.
• Ability to accurately provide interpretation between English and American Sign Language.
• State-specific ASL interpreting license where applicable.
• Submission of a current résumé in English during the application process.
• Background checks and credentialing requirements may apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and American Sign Language during onsite assignments.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable to an accepted assignment.
• Follow interpreter protocols, professional standards, and client requirements.
• Comply with Propio and client requirements regarding ethics, confidentiality, privacy, security, and assignment protocols.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy and data-protection requirements (HIPAA, FERPA, GLBA, etc.).
• Maintain professional interactions with clients and participants.
• Maintain language proficiency and subject matter knowledge for accepted assignments.
