Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Fluent in English and American Sign Language.
• Ability to interpret between English and ASL.
• At least one ASL certification.
• RID certification and EIPA/BEI where applicable.
• State-specific ASL interpreting license where required.
• Résumé in English at application.
• High school diploma or equivalent as required by credentialing standards.
• Basic computer/tech proficiency.
• Reliable travel to onsite assignments.
• Health/immunization and background checks may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate and professional consecutive interpretation between English and ASL onsite.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when needed.
• Follow interpreter protocols and client requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with privacy and security standards.
• Interact professionally with clients and participants.
• Maintain current language terminology and subject-matter knowledge.
