Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Proficiency in English and American Sign Language.
• Ability to interpret between English and ASL.
• Must Hold at least one ASL certification (RID, EIPA 3.7+, BEI).
• State-specific ASL interpreting license where applicable.
• Résumé in English during application.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Ability to travel to onsite assignments.
• Health and immunization requirements may apply.
• Background/fingerprint/drug screening may be required.
• Commitment to confidentiality and ethics.
• 1+ year interpreting experience.
• Experience in medical/legal/community interpreting.
• Relevant interpreter credentials or training.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate consecutive interpretation between English and American Sign Language onsite.
• Provide remote interpretation by telephone or video when applicable.
• Follow interpreter protocols and client requirements.
• Comply with confidentiality, privacy, and ethics requirements.
• Maintain professional interactions with clients and participants.
• Maintain language proficiency and subject-matter knowledge.
