This role sits at the center of tax operations—owning the provision while acting as the internal quarterback across external advisors (RSM), sales tax providers (Avalara), and internal stakeholders. If you like being in the driver’s seat without a massive team under you—this is that sweet spot.

Qualifications

• ASC 740 income tax provision experience.
• Experience in C-Corp federal and state tax compliance.
• Familiarity with outsourced tax environments (Big 4 / regional firms).
• Working knowledge of Avalara or similar sales tax systems.
• Proven ability to manage audits, resolve tax issues, and work with tax authorities.
• Strong project management and coordination mindset.
• Ability to operate independently in a hands-on environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual ASC 740 tax provision with current & deferred calculations, journal entries, and reconciliations.
• Perform provision-to-return true-ups and variance analysis; prepare quarterly estimated tax calculations.
• Serve as primary liaison with external tax advisors; review federal/state returns and workpapers; manage timelines and items.
