Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a 3D scanning technician to perform handheld scans with Artec Leo, verify data on site, and deliver scan-to-CAD files and reports for clients. You will process data in Artec Studio and produce comprehensive maps and coordinate reports for structural projects.

Training is provided; prior experience with handheld scanners and CAD familiarity is essential. This on-site role requires travel to regional hubs, and the pay starts at $26 per hour with overtime for

Qualifications

Hands-on experience operating handheld 3D scanners on real projects.
Working knowledge of Artec Studio or comparable scan-processing software.
Familiarity with reading CAD drawings and structural/fabrication drawings.
Comfortable on active construction sites and able to carry equipment.
Valid driver's license with acceptable record.
Able to travel and fly with equipment as assigned.
Experience with scan-to-CAD or metrology reporting is a plus.
ACI, NICET, or ICC certifications a plus – company sponsors them.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute handheld 3D scans of rebar, embeds, and structures before concrete placement.
Control drift on large objects using reference features and overlapping zones.
Verify capture on site before leaving the location.
Process scans in Artec Studio: registration, fusion, mesh cleanup, texture, and export.
Produce deviation maps, reports, and anchor bolt coordinates.
Build scan-to-CAD solids for reverse engineering and fit-up checks.
Document capture procedures and chain of custody on forensic matters.
Coordinate access, permits, and safety with site contacts.
Travel to regional hubs as assigned.
